NEW YORK, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- Former U.S. President Bill Clinton, his wife Sen. Hillary Clinton and the Jonas Brothers have agreed to help ring in the New Year in New York's Times Square.

New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg is also slated to take part in Wednesday night's festivities, during which the Clintons will push a button, causing the 6-ton Waterford crystal Times Square News Year's Eve ball to make its minute-long descent, thus marking the end of 2008 and the start of 2009, the New York Daily News said.

The Jonas Brothers are also set to perform at the celebration.

Thousands of police officers are to be on duty and more than 1 million revelers are expected to flock to Times Square to see the ball drop, the newspaper said.

"Times Square is so secure, it's the last thing to worry about," Bloomberg said. "There'll be a lot of police that you see (and) there'll be a lot of police that you don't see."

No backpacks or alcohol will be permitted in Times Square Wednesday night, the Daily News said.

The Jonas Brothers will ring in the New Year and perform during the 11:45pm performance slot as the 2009 ball drop in New York City’s Times Square, JustJaredJr.com can exclusively reveal. Songs are still to-be-announced.

Ryan Seacrest will host the event, Dick Clark’s Rockin’ New Year’s Eve celebration, and will welcome other performers including Jesse McCartney, Ne-Yo, Pussycat Dolls, Solange Knowles, Natasha Bedengfield, and Fall Out Boy.

The musical trio may soon be covering the walls of the White House. Fathead, a name brand in sports and entertainment graphic products, is offering to decorate the future First Daughters Malia, 10, and Shasha’s, 7, rooms in the monumental residence.

Brock Weatherup, CEO of the company, said, “When we heard that the First Daughters are huge fans of the Jonas Brothers and very excited about decorating their own rooms, we wanted to reach out to the First Lady’s transition team to offer our expertise in the ‘Department of the Interior’, to coin a phrase.”

It's 2008 and it's good to be one of the Jonas Brothers. These three sibs are having the year of their lives, winning accolade after accolade, and now you can pin one more prestigious title on their lapels.

Teen Magazine has named the JoBros the number one, two, and three sexiest guys in Hollywood in their new 50 Hottest Guys in Hollywood list.

They asked the boys to name one thing they wish they could do but can't anymore now that they're ultra-famous.

"I think probably go to the mall," said Joe Jonas, 19. "I'm really happy with my life and there aren't many things I'd regret."

Kevin Jonas, 21, was a bit more philosophical than his sibling.

"Maybe go to college," said Kevin. "Or, I'd probably travel as much as I do now, so it's a pretty amazing thing."

Nick Jonas, 16, didn't have too many thoughts about being famous. Instead he was asked if he would ever date a fan.

"Totally! I think we all want the person we date to be at the shows rocking out," he said. "We'd think it's cool she's into it."

For fans of math, the Jonas Brothers are fully 6% of the Hottest Guys in Hollywood.

Yesterday the Jonas Brothers were at Barnes & Noble on 5th and 46th in Midtown signing copies of their new book, "Burning Up: On Tour With The Jonas Brothers," and the crowd was just as insane as you might expect for the Wyckoff, NJ teenage pop sensations. The Daily News was on hand and got some choice quotes from some of the 500 fans who traveled from around the country for yesterdays event. "They were all so nice. The best bit was telling them I loved them and them saying it back. I'm never going to forget today," one girl told the paper. Another reported, "Nick was much hotter in person. When I saw him, I cried so hard. I would do it again. I want to drive from state to state to see them again." But the prize for dedication goes to 16-year-old Britney Rosen from Long Island, who skipped Thanksgiving dinner and waited just under 60 hours to be first in line to greet the promise ringed-brothers.
